1. About This Policy
Araqick is an Arabic learning service. In this Policy,
“Araqick,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator
of the Araqick application and website. This Policy
applies to the Araqick Android application,
araqick.com, and the
support and account-deletion services associated with
them.
This Policy describes the current functionality
of Araqick. Some features can be used
without signing in, while account and cloud-sync
features require authentication.
2. Age Requirement
Araqick is intended exclusively for individuals who are
18 years of age or older. Individuals under 18 are not
permitted to use Araqick. Araqick is not designed or
marketed as a children's service, and we do not
knowingly seek personal information from anyone under
18.
Araqick does not currently request a date of birth or
use identity documents or another technical
age-verification system to verify every user's age. The
age requirement is a condition of eligibility under the
Araqick Terms of Service; it is not a claim that
underage access can always be detected or prevented
technically.
If we learn that personal information is associated
with a person under 18, we may restrict or close the
account and take appropriate steps to delete the
information, subject to applicable law and any limited
retention requirements. A parent or legal guardian who
believes that a person under 18 has provided
information to Araqick may contact us at
support@araqick.com.
3. Information We Process
Account and authentication information
When you choose Continue with Google, Araqick and
Firebase Authentication process information needed to
authenticate you. Depending on the information
available from your Google account, this includes your
name, email address, profile-photo URL, a Firebase user
identifier, authentication tokens, sign-in provider,
and account creation or sign-in timestamps. Araqick
does not receive your Google Account password.
When you open the Account screen, Araqick may retrieve
your profile image from the HTTPS address supplied by
Google. The image host or delivery provider receives
the ordinary network information needed to serve that
request, such as your IP address, device or user-agent
information, and the request time.
A limited reviewer-access system also supports
authorized test accounts and reviewer entitlements. For
those accounts, Firebase Authentication handles
email-and-password credentials, and Araqick stores a
reviewer access status linked to the Firebase user
identifier. This is not a general-user profile feature.
Learning progress and account activity
If you sign in, Araqick stores and synchronizes learning
progress in Cloud Firestore. This includes lesson
completion and star data, progress schema and reset
information, update timestamps, and, where applicable,
reviewer learning progress. Araqick uses this
information to restore and synchronize progress across
eligible app sessions.
Information stored on your device
Araqick stores app information locally, including
lesson progress and section unlocks, settings such as
theme, accent, sound, and haptics, bookmarks, review
activity, Fruits, Gems, Growth and related timers or
rewards, rewarded-ad limits and cooldowns, in-app
notification state, update prompts, and progress-sync
metadata. Some Firebase data may also be cached locally
to support offline use.
Android backup or device-transfer features may back up
or restore some local preferences. Clearing app data or
uninstalling usually removes locally held data from the
device, but a later restore from an Android backup may
restore eligible preferences.
Advertising, consent, and technical information
The Android application uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK
and Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK. It does
not include Google Analytics for Firebase. These
advertising and consent services may automatically
process app-instance or installation identifiers,
advertising or app-set identifiers, IP address and
IP-derived approximate location, device and
operating-system information, app version, language,
interactions with the app or advertisements, and
diagnostic or performance information.
UMP also processes the information necessary to
determine which privacy message or privacy-options
entry point applies and to store or communicate the
advertising privacy choices you make. The exact
message, choices, purposes, and advertising partners
shown can depend on your region and Araqick's current
AdMob Privacy & messaging configuration.
Google Mobile Ads uses this information for advertising,
analytics, and fraud prevention, including delivering
and measuring ads, reporting, security, and detecting
invalid traffic. Araqick currently offers optional
rewarded-ad interactions.
Security and integrity information
Firebase App Check and Google Play Integrity process
app, account, licence, device-integrity, and related
attestation signals to help determine whether requests
come from a genuine Araqick installation and to prevent
abuse. Firebase and Google services may also process IP
addresses, user agents, request metadata, identifiers,
and security logs when their services are accessed.
When the account-deletion Cloud Function is invoked,
Firebase processes the function name, caller IP
address, Firebase account and token context, and App
Check token. The Cloud Functions client may also
process a Firebase Cloud Messaging registration token
even though Araqick does not currently provide push
notifications.
Support and account-deletion communications
If you email Araqick, we process your email address,
message, and any information you choose to include. A
bug-report email can optionally include your Android
version, device manufacturer and model, and Araqick app
version. Do not include passwords, authentication
codes, payment details, or other information that is
not necessary for your request.
Website and external-request information
The Araqick website does not currently set Araqick
advertising cookies, use browser local storage, or run
an Araqick web-analytics service. Firebase Hosting and
its delivery infrastructure may nevertheless process
IP addresses, browser and device information, requested
URLs, timestamps, and security or delivery logs when a
page is requested.
The app periodically requests a developer announcement
file hosted by GitHub. That request can disclose
ordinary network information, including your IP
address, user agent, and request time, to GitHub and its
delivery providers. Araqick does not send your Firebase
account identifier in that announcement request.
Payments and subscriptions
The current Araqick application does not enable
purchases or subscriptions and does not integrate
Google Play Billing. Araqick therefore does not
currently collect purchase or subscription records
through the app. This Policy will be updated before
payment processing is introduced.
4. Permissions and Device Access
Araqick directly requests internet and network-state
access so it can authenticate accounts, synchronize
progress, request advertisements and announcements,
check for app updates, and use Firebase services.
Google libraries included in the application also
declare permissions for advertising identifiers,
Android Advertising Services APIs such as ad ID,
attribution, and topics, as well as install
attribution, background network operation, and
credential security.
Araqick does not directly request access to precise or
background location, camera, microphone, contacts,
calendars, call logs, SMS, photos, media, or general
device storage. Network services can still infer an
approximate location from an IP address; this is
different from accessing GPS or precise device
location.
5. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Authenticate users and maintain account sessions
- Provide, synchronize, reset, and restore learning progress
- Remember settings, rewards, bookmarks, and in-app state
- Determine and record applicable advertising privacy choices
- Deliver and measure rewarded advertisements
- Maintain and improve app reliability and features
- Check app integrity and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
- Provide updates, announcements, support, and account deletion
- Comply with law, enforce our terms, and protect users, Araqick, and others
6. Advertising and Privacy Choices
Google Mobile Ads and rewarded ads
Google Mobile Ads may use or share identifiers,
approximate location derived from IP address, app
interactions, ad interactions, and diagnostic data to
serve and measure advertisements and to prevent invalid
traffic and fraud. The ads shown are not necessarily
“adult-targeted” merely because Araqick is restricted
to users aged 18 and over.
Google User Messaging Platform (UMP)
Araqick uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP)
SDK together with AdMob Privacy & messaging to obtain
and manage advertising privacy choices where required.
UMP determines which configured privacy message is
applicable based on factors such as your region and
device, and reports whether advertising requests may be
made.
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), the
United Kingdom, and Switzerland, Araqick may display a
European regulations message that explains advertising
data uses and asks for applicable consent choices,
including consent for device storage or access and for
the collection, sharing, and use of personal data for
advertising purposes where required. Depending on the
current message configuration, you may be able to
consent, decline consent, or manage individual options.
For users in applicable U.S. states, Araqick may make a
U.S. state regulations privacy-options message
available so that users can exercise applicable choices
concerning ads personalization and certain advertising
data uses or disclosures. The exact rights and choices
shown depend on the law applicable to the user and
Google's current message configuration.
Araqick checks UMP's current ad-request state before
enabling Google Mobile Ads. A previously saved and
still-valid privacy choice may be used by UMP on a
later app session. When UMP reports that advertising
requests are not permitted, Araqick does not request a
rewarded ad.
When UMP indicates that a privacy-options entry point
is required, Araqick provides a Privacy choices
option in the app's Settings screen. You can use it to
reopen the applicable Google privacy-options form and
review or change available advertising choices.
UMP manages advertising-related privacy choices only. It
does not control Firebase Authentication, Cloud
Firestore, Cloud Functions, Firebase App Check, or other
services required to provide and secure Araqick.
Advertising and related analytics or measurement may be
subject to consent, objection, restriction, or opt-out
rights in your jurisdiction. You may also use Android
and Google settings to manage advertising personalization
or reset or delete the advertising identifier where
supported.
7. Notifications and Announcements
Araqick currently provides an in-app notification
centre for learning and motivational content. It does
not currently request Android notification permission
or use Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications.
Notification content and read status are stored
locally. The app may retrieve a developer announcement
from GitHub as described above.
8. Legal Bases for Processing
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, the basis
depends on the information and purpose. We may process
information as necessary to provide the service you
request and perform our agreement with you; for
legitimate interests such as securing, maintaining,
and improving Araqick where those interests are not
overridden by your rights; with consent when it has
been requested and given, including for advertising
personalization or device storage/access where required;
and to comply with legal obligations or protect legal
rights.
You may withdraw consent at any time where processing
is based on consent, without affecting earlier lawful
processing. Where UMP provides the applicable consent
mechanism, use the in-app Privacy choices option when
available to revisit those advertising choices.
9. How Information Is Shared
Araqick does not sell personal information for money.
We disclose or make information available in the
following circumstances:
-
Service providers. Google and
Firebase process information for authentication,
database, cloud functions, advertising, consent and
privacy messaging, hosting, app integrity, and
Android platform services. GitHub
processes network requests for developer
announcements. Your email provider processes
support or deletion emails you send.
-
Advertising. Google Mobile Ads and
participating advertising technology providers may
process or receive advertising, interaction,
device, network, approximate-location, consent, and
diagnostic information for advertising,
analytics, measurement, reporting, and fraud prevention,
subject to applicable privacy choices.
-
Legal and safety reasons. We may
disclose information when reasonably necessary to
comply with law or valid legal process, enforce our
terms, investigate abuse, or protect rights, safety,
and security.
-
Business changes. Information may
be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition,
financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or
similar transaction, subject to appropriate
safeguards and applicable law.
Some privacy laws use “sale” or “sharing” more broadly
than an exchange for money. If those laws apply to
advertising-related disclosures, you may have
additional opt-out rights described in the “Your
Choices and Rights” section and, where applicable,
through Araqick's in-app Privacy choices entry point.
10. Third-Party Services
The principal third-party services used by Araqick are
Google Sign-In and Credential Manager, Firebase
Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions,
Firebase App Check, Google Mobile Ads, Google User
Messaging Platform,
Google Play Integrity, Google Play in-app updates,
Firebase Hosting, and GitHub-hosted announcements.
These providers process information under their own
terms, privacy notices, and data-retention practices.
You can learn more in the
Google Privacy Policy,
Firebase Privacy and Security information,
and
GitHub's Privacy Statement.
Links or services controlled by another provider are
governed by that provider's privacy practices. This
Policy does not control how an independent third party
handles information outside Araqick's direction.
11. Storage and International Processing
Account and progress information is stored through
Google Firebase infrastructure. Araqick's callable
account-deletion service is configured in the Mumbai,
India region. Other Google, Firebase, advertising,
consent-management, hosting, email, and GitHub systems
may process information in India, the United States, or
other countries where they or their service providers
operate. Those countries may have data-protection laws
different from those in your location.
Where required, international processing is subject to
contractual, technical, or other safeguards provided
by Araqick or the relevant service provider.
12. Data Retention
We retain account information and synchronized learning
progress while your account is active and for as long
as reasonably necessary to provide the service, resolve
requests, secure Araqick, enforce our agreements, and
meet legal obligations. Support and deletion emails are
retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to
handle and document the request and meet applicable
obligations.
Following in-app account deletion, a limited
deletion-job record linked to the Firebase user
identifier may remain for up to seven days so the
system can verify completion or retry a failed
deletion. It contains operational status and timing
information rather than the deleted account profile. It
is then scheduled for deletion.
Local app information generally remains until you clear
app data or uninstall Araqick, subject to Android backup
and restore behavior. Google UMP privacy choices and
related consent records are retained according to the
applicable Google/AdMob configuration and provider
retention practices. Service-provider security,
authentication, advertising and related analytics, and
hosting logs are retained under the provider's applicable
retention schedules. Some information may be retained
longer where required by law or reasonably necessary
for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or
the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims.
13. Account and Data Deletion
You can permanently delete your Araqick account from
the app after reauthenticating with the same Google
account. If you cannot access the app, submit a
verified request through the
Araqick account deletion page.
The deletion process removes the Firebase
Authentication account, the account profile held in
that service, synchronized Cloud Firestore learning
progress beneath the user identifier, and any linked
reviewer entitlement. A limited deletion-job record may
remain for up to seven days as described above.
Provider logs or backups may also remain for their
normal limited retention periods or where legally
required.
Account deletion does not delete your Google Account.
It also does not remotely erase anonymous guest data,
settings, rewards, caches, or other information that
remains only on a device. To remove all local Araqick
data, clear the app's storage in Android settings and
uninstall the app, bearing in mind that eligible
preferences may later be restored from Android backup.
14. Your Choices and Rights
You can use available guest features without signing
in, sign out, manage some app settings, clear local app
data through Android, manage advertising settings
through your device or Google account, and delete your
Araqick account. You can correct name or profile
information supplied by Google through the relevant
Google Account settings.
When Google UMP reports that an advertising
privacy-options entry point is required, Araqick shows
Privacy choices in Settings. You can
use that option to review or change the advertising
privacy choices available for your region. European
users may be able to change consent choices, and users
in applicable U.S. states may be able to exercise
advertising opt-out choices through the relevant Google
message.
Depending on where you live, applicable law may give
you rights to request access to, correction of, or
deletion of personal information; obtain a portable
copy; restrict or object to processing; withdraw
consent; opt out of certain advertising disclosures; or
complain to a competent data-protection authority.
These rights may be subject to legal exceptions and
identity verification.
To exercise a privacy right not available directly in
the app, email
support@araqick.com.
We will use information reasonably necessary to verify
and respond to your request. We will not ask you to
provide your Google password or an authentication code.
15. Data Security
Araqick uses safeguards intended to protect
information, including encrypted network transport
provided by Google and Firebase, Firebase
Authentication, access-controlled Firestore rules,
server-side account deletion, Firebase App Check, and
Google Play Integrity checks. Access to operational
systems should be limited to people who need it for
authorized purposes.
No method of transmission, storage, or security is
completely secure. We cannot guarantee that information
will never be accessed, altered, lost, or disclosed
without authorization.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Policy when Araqick's features,
data practices, providers, privacy-message
configuration, or legal obligations change. We will
post the revised Policy at this URL and update the
“Last updated” date. Where required, we will provide
additional notice or request consent before a material
change takes effect.
